A Little Laughter

When was the last time you had a good belly laugh? You know, you laugh so hard tears roll down your cheeks and you can't catch your breath.

Remember the phrase, “Laughter is the best medicine.”? Here are a few benefits of laughter:

  • Enhance oxygen intake to stimulate the heart, lungs and muscles.

  • Increase endorphins released in the brain.

  • Ease pain.

  • Decrease the body's stress response.

  • Stimulate circulation and aid muscle relaxation.

  • Strengthen the immune system.

  • Improve mood.

I even discovered a good belly laugh for fifteen minutes burns ten to forty calories. Laughter can even help tone up your abs.

Having trouble finding something to laugh about, just look around. If you still can’t find anything to tickle you, you may want to engage the assistance of a Laughter Therapist.

Laughter therapists use laugh techniques to relieve both psychological and physical pain. I have worked with a couple of different laughter therapists during seminars and workshops. They had the whole room of participants roaring with laughter.

Now, go out and create some uncontrollable and contagious laughter, you will be happy and healthier.

Here's a little something to get you started. Enjoy!

Laughter Yoga is apparently a thing these days. I have a friend who teaches it and loves it.

OMG I loved the video! I get a dose of laughter with the things that Lia does and says. She can be sitting doing nothing and she breaks out laughing and that gets us all going. Laughter is the best medicine!
